Looking at the most and least popular islands of the Caribbean, it quickly became obvious that their are a few locations attracting the large majority of travelers. We could not help but ask ourselves as to what the reasons were for this.

Puerto Rico is a current hot spot in the Caribbean as the more stringent U.S. passport requirements for foreign travel that includes Bermuda and many of the Caribbean locations does not include U.S. territories like Puerto Rico. This has greatly increased the popularity due to lower costs and ease of travel. Other regular favorite destinations include Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas and Cancun, Mexico, Cayman Island, Australia, and New Zealand according to the travel industry association of America.

A Puerto Rico vacation can be as frugal or extravagant as one desires. One thing that remains the same is these destination vacations remain exotic and romantic no matter what the budget. Many times the big factor in cost is in the exact location of the hotel room of choice and in the extra services and amenities that are offered.

Bermuda is also on the list of places not requiring a passport for travel unless arriving or departing by air but the preferred document for entry is still a passport. Bermuda also has seen a spike in tourism as more people find its excellent dining, and distinctive and fun activities appealing. Bermuda is not one island but is a group of approximately 138 islands in a cluster. Set apart from the main Caribbean, these islands are located off the eastern seacoast of the United States about 600 miles from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

Jamaica, with its slow pace and warm year round weather, is a great choice in relaxing vacation destinations of choice for many like us. Picture yourself on a nice sandy beach with our closest friends and a Jamaican sunset, It's what a great vacation should be.
